Schools
The Polytechnic University of Castelo Branco (IPCB) is a public higher education institution which began its activity in October 1980. IPCB has six schools and around 5000 students:
- School of Agriculture (Escola Superior Agrária), which lectures courses in the areas of agronomy, food sciences and veterinary;
- School of Arts (Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas), with courses in the areas of design and music;
- School of Education (Escola Superior de Educação) with courses in the areas of education, social sciences and sports;
- School of Business, Law and Tourism (Escola Superior de Gestão de Idanha-a-Nova);
- School of Health (Escola Superior de Saúde Dr. Lopes Dias) with courses in the area of medical care and health;
- School of Engineering (Escola Superior de Tecnologia) where you attend courses in the areas of engineering and computer sciences.
The courses combine a strong practical component and technical training with theorical frameworks at the highest scientific level, providing the students with the necessary tools to become competent professionals.
